- Forextime UK Limited is FCA-authorised under FRN 777911, while other FXTM-branded services are offered by separate entities including Exinity Limited in Mauritius and Forextime Ltd in South Africa
- CySEC withdrew Forextime Ltd's licence 185/12 on 20 May 2024 after voluntary renunciation, so FXTM must not be described as currently CySEC-regulated
- Current account pages show Advantage-family accounts and terms that vary by site and entity; the old $10 Micro and $500 three-account table is stale
- No live official FXTM product page verifying current FXTM Invest availability was found on 31 July 2026, so this review does not present copy trading as a current universal feature

Comparison Method and Evidence Limits#
Short answer: This is a desk-research comparison, not a live-account test. It was re-verified on 31 July 2026 using the legal-entity and jurisdiction information, account pages, fee schedules and risk documents linked in this article. ForexTradeLab did not open accounts, place trades, track spreads, test fills or time withdrawals for this update.
Detailed method: First identify the legal company that would contract with your country of residence and verify that entity on the relevant official register—not merely a group brand. Then compare the same instrument, account type, account currency, trade size and session. An all-in cost comparison must include variable spread, round-turn commission, swaps or financing, conversion charges and possible slippage. “From” spreads are not averages or guarantees. Product access, leverage, protection and payment terms can differ by entity and can change after this verification date.
Sources and sample limits: Broker-specific facts must be read with the official source URLs in the front-matter citations and the current client agreement. Useful primary registers include the FCA Financial Services Register, ASIC professional registers and CySEC regulated entities register. No unpublished dataset or representative live-spread sample supports this page. If a number lacks a directly mapped official source, treat it as an indicative claim requiring fresh verification, not as an independently confirmed fact.
Common mistake: Comparing a minimum spread on one account with an average or commission-inclusive cost on another.
Professional tip: Save the dated entity page, fee schedule and client agreement you relied on, then confirm the same terms in the onboarding flow before depositing.
Risk warning: Forex and CFD products are leveraged and can cause rapid losses. Slippage can occur, stop orders are not guaranteed, and neither regulation nor negative-balance protection removes market, broker or insolvency risk. Verify protections for your specific legal entity and never trade money you cannot afford to lose.
What is FXTM?#
FXTM (ForexTime) is a trading brand established in 2011 and used by multiple legal entities. The relevant regulator, products and protections depend on which company accepts the client.
The current global site advertises more than 1,000 instruments and lists Advantage, Advantage Plus and Advantage Stocks accounts, but regional pages differ. Treat instrument counts and account labels as site-specific marketing claims, not universal terms.
Regulation and Licensing#
FXTM operates through multiple regulated entities with oversight from respected financial authorities:
| Regulator | Entity | License No. | Region |
|---|---|---|---|
| FCA (UK) | Forextime UK Limited | 777911 | United Kingdom |
| FSCA (South Africa) | Forextime SA (Pty) Ltd | 46614 | South Africa |
| FSC (Mauritius) | Exinity Limited | C113012295 | Global / International |
Important correction: CySEC records Forextime Ltd, 185/12, under former investment firms. Its 24 May 2024 decision says the authorisation was withdrawn on 20 May 2024 following the company's voluntary renunciation. FXTM is therefore not currently CySEC-regulated on that licence.
💡 Why does this matter? FCA authorisation 777911 applies to Forextime UK Limited. The Mauritius and South African permissions apply to their named companies. Confirm the legal company and website in the agreement; a group brand does not merge these licences.
Account Types#
The old Micro/Advantage/Advantage Plus table is no longer current. On the UK account page checked on 31 July 2026:
| Feature | Advantage | Advantage Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum deposit shown | $200 | $200 |
| Execution | Market execution | Market execution |
| Pricing shown | Commission-based; product-specific rates | No commission; spread-based |
| Platforms shown | MT4 and MT5 | MT4 and MT5 |
The global homepage also names Advantage Stocks, which shows why clients must use the page and agreement for their own entity. FXTM's commission page distinguishes MT4's floating commission from MT5's fixed $4-per-lot wording for the account and scope shown there.
Copy Trading Evidence#
No live official FXTM product page confirming current FXTM Invest availability could be verified on 31 July 2026. A previously indexed campaign URL returned 404 during validation, so its old strategy counts, fees and minimums are not used here. Do not assume FXTM offers copy trading to your entity; request current written terms before funding.
Trading Platforms#
FXTM supports the standard MetaTrader suite:
- MetaTrader 4 (MT4): Full forex trading environment with Expert Advisors, custom indicators, one-click execution, and the extensive MQL4 community.
- MetaTrader 5 (MT5): Enhanced multi-asset platform with more order types, timeframes, depth of market, economic calendar, and strategy tester.
- FXTM Trader App: Proprietary mobile application for iOS and Android combining trading, account management, and market analysis.
Both MT4 and MT5 are available on desktop, web terminal, and mobile.
Key Features#
- The global homepage advertises 1,000+ instruments; availability varies by entity
- Entity- and instrument-specific leverage and protections
- Advantage-family accounts with commission-based or spread-based pricing
- Educational resources — webinars, seminars, video tutorials, daily analysis, and regional events
Deposit and Withdrawal#
Funding methods, fees, limits and processing times are entity- and country-specific and are shown in the client area. The sources reviewed did not support one universal list or timing promise, so confirm both FXTM's charge and any bank or payment-provider fee before funding.
Pros and Cons#
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| FCA-authorised UK entity; separate Mauritius and South Africa entities | Former CySEC licence was withdrawn in 2024 |
| Advantage commission and Advantage Plus spread pricing | Minimum-deposit figures conflict across official regional pages |
| Current account and commission pages are available | No live official FXTM Invest product page was verified |
| MT4, MT5 and FXTM App | Account and platform availability varies by entity |
| Volume-based commission discounts | Limited stock CFD selection |
| Active educational events and seminars | |
| Swap-free accounts available |
Who Should Choose FXTM?#
FXTM is a strong choice for:
- Traders who can identify their entity and compare its Advantage-family pricing.
- MetaTrader users who also want the FXTM mobile app.
FXTM may not fit clients who require one globally uniform account menu, rely on the withdrawn CySEC licence, or need a currently documented copy-trading service. This review did not test execution or rank FXTM against another broker.
Risk Warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Past performance is not indicative of future results. My biggest takeaway is the emphasis on patience and process. That's what most beginner resources fail to communicate properly. I noted this for my own pre-trade checklist.
Finally an explanation that doesn't assume I already know everything or talk down to me. The balance is just right for intermediate level. I noted this for my own pre-trade checklist.
Using FXTM from Lagos and the local deposit options for Nigeria are a big plus. The Advantage account spreads are tight enough for scalping during London-New York overlap. Only complaint is the swap rates on overnight positions seem higher than competitors.
The comparison between Advantage and Advantage Plus accounts is helpful but I'd add that the commission-free Advantage Plus actually costs more in total when you factor in the wider spreads on volatile pairs. Did the math on GBP/JPY and the commission account saved me about $3 per lot.
